After seeing that the majority of extorted and abused Hi Sec miners in Eve Online preferred to get bombed out of the game rather than fighting back against the punk extortionists, one of the resistance's leaders left Eve, allowing multiple accounts to expire.
This has prompted multiple players to fold their hands too. All saying that they simply don't enjoy a hard days work followed by paying to be abused and extorted in an online game. In total, today alone, more than 18 accounts have clearly stated that they will not be renewing once their subscriptions expire.
While I wish this was an uncommon thing, its actually about as common as the sunrise. In a game where almost everything is built by players, you'd think that the industry pilots playing in the 'safer' part of the game would be considered a valuable resource for the online community. However, they are the most likely to quit the game, as they are almost guaranteed to be abused, extorted, and to have everything they have destroyed by punks with nothing better to do than harass other players.
Now keep in mind that of the 4 types of space in the game, 3 of them are dedicated to pvp freedom, and these players are being extorted, abused, and blasted out of the game in the area where pvp is heavily restricted.
Of course that would also hint towards the fact that the pilots attacking (illegally so) the unarmed and defenceless miners in an area where pvp is heavily restricted must have horribly poor pvp skills, which would be one reason why they don't bother actually engaging in pvp in a pvp area... of course it is also true that extorting and abusing players is one of the best incomes in the game, and one of the best revenue sources for the developers also.

Interesting Reaction From Eve Online Extortionists
I saw the other day a reaction from the extortionists in game the other day. They seem to think that this blog is quite the joke. One even said 'I've never seen so many tears in a blog before'.
Of course this reaction is not a surprise. But the purpose of this blog has little to do with motivating the extortionists to stop abusing or extorting other players. What the commenting extortionist failed to comprehend (no surprise there) was that this blog is more aimed at the new Eve player, or the person who is considering trying the game. A bit of a 'Before you pay tons of money, know what you're getting into and paying for'.
And as I've said before, I do enjoy the game. I just wish the devs could find a way to profit from the game other than letting players be abused and extorted into using their credit cards to buy in game money to pay for losses and extortion payouts. I also think its important for new or potential players to have a good idea of what they are signing up for.

Hi Sec Miner Quitting Spree
It has been a bit since my last post, and while little has changed as far as the entire miner abuse and extortion scheme of Eve Online, there has been a rash of Hi Sec Miners simply quitting. As the developers are repeatedly making drives to expand their player base, it would make you wonder why? Hundreds of people quit monthly because of the abuse of players in hi sec, yet it has not occurred to the developers yet that there is more to the process than just getting new players. Keeping those new players should also be a part of the plan.
Of course, most of the players I have spoken to only had this to say 'Eve is an interesting game, but I don't understand why I would pay to be abused and harassed. I play online games to relax and have fun.'
Since I have been in Eve, I've personally witnessed more than 3,000 players quit because of the abuse and harassment of miners in Hi Sec. And of course, I've seen dozens of attempts by the developers to get more and more new players. Go figure, if they got the idea that keeping new players was smart, things might actually start to change. Although they do have big drives to get their longer term players to buy more and more accounts, and to spend more and more money on their credit cards to buy in game items including a bunch of vanity items.
Stay tuned for more in game reality news from the world of Extortion Online... oopps.... I meant Eve Online!

The Worst Time To Play Eve Online If You Don't Want To Be Bullied
The bullies and gankers come out in force on the weekend. So Friday through Sunday, if you're a miner, you might want to think twice about bothering to play the game. Also, evenings after about 4pm EST until about 2am EST things get rough. Note the time zones, North American prime gaming hours are the worst.
Of course, if you don't mine, or transport goods as a career, this won't affect you as much. But mission runners should keep their eyes open for thieves and those that will try to trick into aggressing them for PvP battles, which mission ship configurations tend to fair very poorly for PvP.
That of course raises a question... If your main playing time is North American peak hours, and you want to be an industrial or mining player, is it even worth playing this game? Of course that answer varies for each player. Many miners simply move between different regions. Just like in a real city, if one area becomes a gang bang ghetto, people who are able move to another district. That happens a lot in Eve Online with the miners and industrial pilots. Of course, the bullies know this and do tend to follow where the miners go, so be prepared to move fairly often to avoid harassment, bullying, extortion, and general abuse including getting everything you own repeatedly destroyed by players who's only thrill in life is to ruin other people's game time.

Why Does The Ganking Continue?
Well, that is simple. There are a few reasons. For one, the gankers get to play for free using extortion money, and botting like mad once the miners have been chased off. Another reason is that the devs probably make more $$$ from ganked players buying plex and selling it to replace their stuff.
But really... honestly... why does this work? Well, a lot of people in High Security Space do complain, bitch, and moan about it all. But by the very same token, they don't want to work together even in the face of these troubles.
So what does that mean at the end of the day? The gankers work together, and the victims refuse to. That is how and why 1% of the eve population control the rest... And that, is just plain stupid gone wild. Its as dumb as the dev corruption with the goons is disgusting. Its as dump as the devs making more money off player abuse than subscriptions is disgusting.

Eve Online Plex Specials?
Come one come all! 1, 8, or 30 Plex now on sale!
Buy them now to replace all your ganked stuff so you can go out and get ganked again!
Keep CCP Rich, and keep the Goons and New Order in business.... Oh wait... there's no difference!
Have you ever noticed that once a mass ganking spree starts, there are huge plex specials every time you launch eve? Or the other way around... there is a set of specials advertised, and then the ganking starts?
Have you ever wondered... Where do they make more money... subscriptions, and plex for subscriptions? Or... from ganked people buying plex to sell so they can replace their stuff?
Have you ever wondered.... Maybe the Goons are just another incarnation of BOB? And perhaps.. the Dev corruption never stopped, but instead got legitimized by making the Player run Council Of Stellar Management and surprisingly (NOT) having the leader of the goons as the Chairman of that council?

Eve Online - ReWrite The EULA?
Clearly the developers have put forward an EULA that has been through I don't want to guess how many lawyers. And I surely wouldn't want to mess with that. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems like a really stupid thing to do. Which brings me to the point.
As I've been mentioning, a new group is harassing, extorting, and overall bullying the Eve Online miners in Hi Sec.
This group has also seen fit to declare the EULA ineffective, and have written their own version of what is acceptable conduct in game. http://www.minerbumping.com/p/the-code.html
Ok, so lets put this into perspective. The guy behind this is a worshipper of the Goons. Fairly obvious. Reports have it that the leader of the Goons is in real life a lawyer. So... here we have an in game leader, former head of the CSM, and a person that drunkenly tries to inspire people to push an unstable player to suicide. Now we have him endorsing and supporting a person who is putting forward his own version of the EULA?
How far out of control does it sound like these people are? And even more frighteningly, how many more weeks or months are the developers going to let these people try to force a modified version of the EULA down player's throats. If nothing else, you'd think the developers would at least protect their EULA even if they decide to continue allow wanton player abuse.... Really... Sad just doesn't cover this situation..
Till the next time, Fly Safe :)
To the Devs: Eve is a great game. You've done a hell of a job building it and maintaining it. I just hope that these words will ring a bell. Its a sandbox yes... and people can do what they want... but surely there must be some limits?
